Wine: a very demanding product

Wine: in order to achieve the highest quality desired by wine-makers what order of importance is given to the various stages of production from the wine to the glass? It’s not easy to say. The wine cellar obviously has an important role and Ghidi seeks to work together with wine-makers through the functional productivity of its tanks. First and foremost through the material we use: stainless steel. This noble, neutral metal has inert qualities which permit a good wine to become a great wine by avoiding any hidden enemies and thus improving its final quality. The motives for our choice of Stainless Steel have helped us become specialists in our field.

Stainless steel and Wine: A Union of Noble Forces

There are many excellent reasons why Ghidi chooses AISI 304 and 306 grade stainless steel. As well as its chemical inertia to corrosive agents in wine (tannins, acids), stainless steel is also tasteless, odourless and has very little problem with bacterial surface retention. It is also subject to very little tartrate adhesion and removal of incrustations is made easy by its smooth surface. Stainles steel makes thorough washing simple and easy, does not age and so maintains its value through time; it is protected against salt-damage and resists corrosive external elements. Stainless steel is also subject to few limitations of form and dimension and in the wine cellar re-location is made easy with our models mounted on legs for convenient mobility. We don’t only produce tanks for wine either but also for honey, fruit juice , milk, spirits and herbal infusions too. Our products range from small 25 lts tanks for house-hold use to highly professional models with a capacity of up to 15,000 lts.
