GHIDI has chosen to make tanks from stainless steel but although the material in itself is important it alone is not sufficient – it further undergoes a demanding process of welding specific to its intended use in order to avoid the presence of weak points in the container. Precision welding is checked digitally with the further application of a rigorous TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) system: edges are welded together using a torch fitted with a tungsten electrode. Inert gas eliminates oxygen which is the cause of molecular alterations which render the tank vulnerable to attack by the liquids contained in it (wine or oil). AISI 316 grade stainless steel welding rods are also used to weld very thick metal sheets.

These are just some of the production elements that make up GHIDI tanks. The best quality single-block AISI 304 and 316 grade stainless steel plates with digitally controlled TIG welding ensures total reliability and resistance. Accessories are also made of stainless steel as standard (valves, level holder, wine-tasting taps) and our attention to detail is both functional and aesthetic: pressed front hatch within the tank wall, created without any welding or external roughening of the stainless steel.
